20: Be Who You Want to Be
Jonathan Solomon, a Higher Education professional, was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Langston University, Master of Education from the University of Oklahoma, and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Philosophy – Higher Education Leadership at Indiana State University.
He currently serves as the Director of Upward Bound at Harris-Stowe State University where he has the privilege of working with low-income and potential first-generation high school students from Ferguson, Missouri.
He has a passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion, helping students explore their academic, professional, and social passions, advocating for minoritized populations, and social justice education. As a scholar-practitioner, Jonathan has experience leading and producing research around the experiences of academically gifted and high achieving students, low-income and first-generation students, historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), Black male identity development, un-doing patriarchy, critical race theory, educational equity, and college access.
