As I was preparing for today’s show, even thinking about the topic that I ended up landing on (talking about success), I found myself reminding myself of my word for the year: PEACE. In the five years (this month) that I’ve been podcasting, this is the shortest session I’ve ever released. (Isn’t that ironic? And, I guess I found a way to make this session celebratory after all. Ha ha!) I won’t front about putting a lot of pressure on myself to “nail it” when it comes to my business, and what I know at this moment is that a good show doesn’t have to be a long one.

What does it mean to be successful? – 1:09

If you would’ve asked me this some time ago, I would have probably given you several answers like finance, house, car, travel, and so forth. If I’m honest, it would’ve been something impressive. Why shouldn’t we define our success by others’ success?-2:30

People look to other things and people to tell them how to be successful—wake up at 5 am, work out an hour a day, practice self-care, eat whole food, max out your investments. Don’t get me wrong, considering different perspectives being exposed to new ideas is good. Yet, it’s important to be mindful to not feel obligated to do something simply because it’s how someone else did it, especially if you think that person to be better than you.

What does it really and truly mean to be successful? – 3:27

You have to let go of other people’s success and make room for your own. If I haven’t said anything else to that has stuck with you, I hope that what I’m about to say does… You’ll never be happy, fulfilled, or successful until you’re willing to be completely honest with yourself about who you are and consent to live accordingly.
