More ways to listen: Apple Podcasts, YouTube, Spotify, GooglePlay.
Everyone, me included, wants the next week, month, or year to be better than the previous ones. That’s why we set goals and write down new year’s resolutions because we all crave the feeling of eventually accomplishing something. But here’s the thing, if you really want to succeed, you have to make changes to the things that are holding you back. I believe that the secret of change is not focusing all of your energy on fighting your old habits, but on building new ones. But now the question becomes, “How do I make changes to something as unpredictable as my future?” Simple, don’t make it complicated. Have a set goal, highlight what needs to change, and, most importantly, do what makes you happy.
For Change to Happen, You Have to Take Action – 00:30
I recently did a masterclass talking about how to see the big picture. And in one of those discussions, we broke down a fascinating topic that I thought would be nice to share on the podcast. So, if you’re like every ambitious person worldwide, you probably have dreams and goals you want to achieve in life. But have you ever asked yourself what needs to change for you to achieve those goals? If you want to lose weight, for example, are you actively making lifestyle changes that will aid you in losing weight? Say you want to double your salary in the next five years; what are you doing today that will turn that dream into a reality.
The unfortunate truth is that most of us only have dreams and aspirations but rarely make changes to the things holding them back. I know taking action towards your goals is never easy. However, I believe you only need to stay consistent and build momentum. Never let those bumps along the way deter you from your path to freedom. Remember, there’s never a perfect time to start. It all begins when you take that crucial first step.
What Does Happiness Mean to You? – 04:07
What makes you happy? Is it enjoying solitude and diving into a book or maybe a girl’s night out every once in a while? In my pursuit of happiness, I’ve learned that happiness generally includes positive emotions combined with a sense of meaning. You know, that feeling that hits you when you know life is good and you can’t help but enjoy the moment. The good news is that there is no universally agreed-upon definition of happiness. So, you can always create your own version of happiness whenever you want. Just be intentional about what you enjoy doing and do more of it. That’s it; that’s the secret to happiness.
