Ravenne Aponte is a native of Miami, Florida. She received her Bachelor of  Arts in African-American Studies and Health Disparities from the  University of Florida in May 2016. She most recently graduated from Duke University School of Nursing with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing as her second degree in December 2017. 

Throughout nursing school, Ravenne focused on integrating her interests in global public health and community building and traveled to Guatemala and the Philippines, and participated in local community work with Duke Nursing Students without Borders. 

Upon graduation, she began her nursing career as a registered nurse in a Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit in Durham, North Carolina. Her interests in Black studies, health, and wellness and efforts to increase the number of minority nurses have led her to create “RNoire” a personal blog sharing her experiences and efforts to living intentionally.
