32: Setting Your Own Tone

Dionna Newsome, Pan Afrikan, Author, Poet, and Child Care Provider, was born on May 24, 1996, in Baltimore, MD. Since the age of 10, she has had the dream and vision of becoming a published author. 

She graduated from Carver Vocational Technical High School in 2014 with a high school diploma as well as her 90-hour child care certification. While in high school she was involved in the National Honor Society, College Bound Foundation, and Peer Group Connection Program, whose purpose was to mentor incoming freshmen. 

Dionna furthered her career and will be graduating in May 2018 from McDaniel College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Creative Writing. 

She is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. where she has served as secretary and president. Dionna is also a poet who goes by the name of NIA The Poet; she has fan favorites such as Queen, Queen Pt.2, Embrace Your Curls, and Evolution.
